第29回 芝増上寺 薪能 / Zojoji Temple "Takigi Noh"

We are pleased to offer you an opportunity to see “Takigi Noh", the traditional Japanese performing art of “Noh" played outdoors at night in the light of burning torches, at Zojoji Temple, Shiba Park, Minato-ku, Tokyo. This has been made possible through the courtesy of Mr. Masaharu Umewaka, a Noh player who is a member of the Society.

Available Seats: 30 (first come, first served basis)

There will be a free-of-charge workshop (in Japanese) on how to enjoy Noh for ticket holders on September 23rd. Reservation required.

  • 1. Noh Play "Sagi" (Heron)
  • Torch Lighting Ceremony
  • 2. Kyogen Play (Comic vignette) "Kazumo" (Mosquito Sumo)
  • 3. Noh Play "Saigyozakura" (Saigyo Priest & Cherry Blossom)
