奨学金 / Scholarship

故高円宮憲仁親王殿下を記念して、1978年5月より3年間、故殿下がご留学のオンタリオ州キングストンのクイーンズ大学に奨学金制度が設立されました。 日加両国の多くの企業や個人が基金募集の呼びかけに賛同し、目標額に達する事になる由、当協会も皆様にお願いし、各位よりの寄付金総額2,060,000円を7月2日クイーンズ大学へ送金いたしました。 毎年、日本の若者1名が奨学金を得てクイーンズ大学で学ぶ事が出来ます。 維持会員、普通会員の方々の御協力を得ました事心より厚く御礼申し上げます。

A scholarship fund in commemoration of the late Prince Takamado has been established at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, where he studied from May 1978 to July 1981. Named the Prince Takamado Visiting Student Scholarship, the fund will annually provide an opportunity for a young Japanese student to study at Queen's University for one year. This has been made possible by many corporations and individuals in Japan and Canada that contributed willingly and generously through the Canadian Embassy's fundraising campaign for the scholarship. The Canada-Japan Society supported the campaign by seeking contributions from our membership. We raised over \2 million in total, and remitted the funds to Queen's University on July 2. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Sustaining and Ordinary Members for their generous contributions.
